Dear Dr. Amar,
I am your student who was privileged to have undergone your training in the clinic of Dr. Orton in Centennial, Colorado last August 6 and 7, 2005.
After returning upon your training, I have done 86 facial surgeries with amazing results using your famed FAMI technique excluding the other partial FAMI which I did when I was just starting, . My patients in the Phillipines and others who are predominantly from the USA have repeatedly showered appreciation and accolades on me. I always tell them that they should thank you Dr. Amar for this great innovation in the sphere of facial rejuvenation using one's own fat stem cells.
I recently attended the 2nd European Congress on Preventive Regenerative and Anti Aging Medicine in Milan on the 18-20th of March 2010 and I heard a lecture entitled "Mega Adipocite/Stem Cell filling for Facial Skin Rejuvenation". Having sat there and listened to the presentation, I realized how fortunate I am to have been trained by you. Its methodology was so basic, predicated on the premise of just the application of of more than 100cc of one's own fat cells on the face in order to compensate for the high reabsorption rate, with no regard to any of the intricacies, in which you have taught us, such as the tri-dimensional volume correction which includes muscle injection, specific cannula for specific muscle, nerve block with motility conservation and bone enhancement.
And of course none of the other results under your technique such as minimal bruising, downtime and the lasting final outcome. Since then I have been perturbed by what I had heard and I feel that there is a real danger of doctors denigrating this highly successful technique by the simple application of fat cells on the face. As a result of the lecture, lest the cosmetic world starts belabouring under a totally erroneous impression of this methodology, I have decided to do the following:
To start with, I am embarking on a programme to widely publicize you
and the AMAR FAMI technique in the Philippines. Hopefully thereafter
in Asia. I fervently believe that I will be able to make a
significant contribution in the development of facial cosmetic
treatment in this part of the world which always seeks to imitate
Europe and USA. I am also intending to popularize and persuade my
colleagues to attend the courses in the FAMI Academy. Please do let me
know whether you a have a course this year, I would like to attend it
so I can update and hone my techniques further.
Dr. Amar, I cannot thank you enough for imparting a modicum of your gift to me. I hope I will be able to reciprocate in a small way by doing the above so that many more doctors in Asia can share this unique gift and phenomenal talent that God has blessed you with.
I seek your guidance and I look forward to hearing from you
Best regards,
Alfredo V. Callanta, M.D.
